Using AC Tourist to view Data in Places

AC Tourist is our application to view data points in real locations. We populated it with touristic examples. It requires access to the internet via mobile data or wi-fi, and GPS access.

How it Works

When you work with the Tourist application you should point the camera at a previously reconstructed location with marked objects. We populated this example with touristically relevant names

On the pictures above you can see the icon that corresponds one of the four basic types of the objects:

  1. Restaurant

  2. Shop

  3. Place

  4. Other

In the view with information above the icon you can see object name, object type, rating, feedback amount and price category. On the left and right sides of the screen there are counters which displays objects out of the screen.

In the left bottom corner, you find a grey circle with count of objects. You’ll open the list of the nearby objects if you’ll tap on it. There is a status bar above the grey circle.

  1. If you tap in the grey circle on the previous screen, at the bottom of the screen appears the list of nearby objects. You can see short information about an object (in the red rectangle). Besides you can tap on TripAdvisor icon if it is active and you’ll move to the web-page.

If you tap on the short information about object, you’ll move to the screen with detailed information about it.

The detailed information about an object includes phone number, site of an object (if exists) and link to the page on TripAdvisor. The icons of an objects are clickable. You can switch between the objects in the frame. Detailed information about selected object will be showed. You can return to the list of the objects and to the first screen by tap on the “back” button at the bottom panel or by swiping view with the object information.
