Capturing Using AC Scanner
AC Scanner is our main app to capture data points on location. It requires access to the internet via mobile data or wi-fi, and GPS access.
Set up and permissions
To create new location you should install the AC Scanner application.
Before you start working with the application, you should check that you have wi-fi connection or mobile internet enabled on your device. Besides, you should check that GPS is turned on.
After first start of application you’ll see the authorization screen below. Now you should only tap on the “LOGIN” button in the red rectangle – login and password set by default.
Then you’re appeared at the “photo-mode” screen. At first you should allow all required permissions. After all permissions have been allowed, you can start capturing photos with a tap on the round blue button at the bottom of the screen (in Android case it’s in the red rectangle).
After you tap on the blue button, the message “Waiting for location” appears in front of it. The photo will be saved only when application updates GPS-location. This may take about 10 seconds. If the frame counter does not appear for too long, try restarting the application or move over the scene.
After the application updates location, the frame counter will appear in top of the blue button, the “Pause” button appears on the right side of it. When you’ve captured enough frames (10-12 in the point with horizontal orientation of the device or 20-25 in the vertical orientation) you can tap on the “Pause” button and move to the next point. In the next point you should tap on the button “Resume” to renew capturing photo.
When you finished capturing photo in all necessary points, you can tap on the blue button again and move to the “Add capture” screen to add your passage to the location. At first time you should tap on “Create” button and move to the “Create location” screen. Then you should enter the location name in the field and tap on the button “Add”. Your frames will be added to the corresponding slot and you’ll move to the screen “Locations”.

There are three slots on the location screen – for day, twilight and night passages. Your passage will be automatically added to the corresponding slot depending on the time of adding:
Day: 9:00-18:00
Twilight: 18:00-21:00
Night: 21:00-9:00
You can see that your passage appears in the correspondent slot in the red circle. Besides, on the “Locations” screen you can remove full location with all three slots or rename it. To continue capturing photo you should go back to the “Photo mode” screen.

To add another passage to the same location you should choose existing location on the “Add capture” screen and tap on the “Add” button. Then confirmation appears to prevent adding passage to the wrong location.

After you’ve added two passages to the location, the “Send” button on the “Locations” screen becomes active.
You must capture as many passages as required in the recommendations!
You should tap to the “Send” button. Then you could see the status “Processing” in the slot has been sent. To check the status of your reconstruction you should tap on the slot – the status message appears at the bottom of the screen. Reconstruction may take a long time, so you may check the result every 20-30 minutes.

If your reconstruction is good – after another check the status in the bottom of the slot changes to “Done”. If reconstruction is bad – the status changes to “Shooting Error”. To get detailed information you can tap in the center of the slot.
